About Extant

Extant Logo

Extant is the opposite of extinct. Formed in 1997 Extant was the inspired name chosen by a group of professional visually impaired artists, given to the emergence of a new dynamic space, intended to redress our invisibility as artist and explore new creative territories.

Now Britain's only professional performing arts company of visually impaired people, Extant has become an innovation in arts management and creative practise, bringing a unique cultural perspective of visual impairment to broaden employment, training and Consultancy through the Arts.
